I rarely post comments, but wanted to compliment you on your remarkably clear thought process on how to try and evaluate these kind of articles that try and use anecdotes as evidence. I look forward to your followup. I am a former executive of Invenergy (the subject company in the article) and have recently moved in to the solar energy industry and am a big supporter of renewable energy - wind, solar, etc. One additional point on your "Energy is life" statement. In addition to the fact that the lack of energy can cause problems so can the alternative to a praticular project or type of energy cause problems. While no electricity or energy project is perfect, the alternative to renewable energy is just another fuel burning project which has far greater problems for all (emmissions, security, energy independence, etc.). Unfortunately the philosophy remains that as long as that project isn't in 'my backyard' it becomes someone elses problem to deal with the fallout.
Best Regards, Kevin Smith
